PTI founder’s health stable, vision improving, says Uzma Khan

ISLAMABAD, August 21, 2026: Dr Uzma Khan has said that PTI founder Imran Khan’s health is stable and, “Mashallah”, he is fit, ARY News reported.
Talking about Imran Khan’s blood pressure, Dr Uzma said that when it was checked with a machine initially, there was a discrepancy. However, when his blood pressure was checked manually, it was found to be 120/80.
She said Imran Khan was talking to her while his blood pressure was being checked.
According to Dr Uzma, doctors told Imran Khan not to talk as his blood pressure could rise. However, he replied that his blood pressure would not rise.
Dr Uzma said Imran Khan’s eye had gradually started improving after injections were administered.
She added that Imran Khan praised Dr Arif for his treatment.
Dr Uzma said she was shown the haemorrhages in Imran Khan’s eye and was told that only a minor amount remained.
She said Imran Khan would also receive follow-up injections in the eye as a precaution and for further improvement.
Dr Uzma clarified that Imran Khan’s eyesight was not 100 percent, but it had improved.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan was transferred back to Adiala Jail early Friday after undergoing a medical examination at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad, according to reports.
PTI founder Imran Khan had been shifted to the private hospital late Thursday night in compliance with an order issued by the Supreme Court, which directed that he be medically assessed and treated at Shifa International Hospital amid concerns over his health.
He was taken to the hospital under tight security, accompanied by his personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan and his sister Dr Uzma Khan.
At Shifa International Hospital, Khan was examined by a medical team comprising specialists, including an ophthalmologist, cardiologist and physician. Following the medical assessment, he was declared fit to remain in custody and subsequently transferred back to Adiala Jail.
The Supreme Court had ordered Khan’s transfer to Shifa International Hospital on August 18, directing that a medical board be constituted to assess his condition. The court also permitted the involvement of his personal physician in the medical assessment.
