25 foreign, local militants killed in North Waziristan

MIRANSHAH: At least 25 foreign and local militants were killed in airstrikes by jet fighters on the third day of the military operation in North Waziristan region codenamed ‘Zarb-e-Azb’, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

According to the spokesman of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) six hideouts of the militants, a training camp and a landmine manufacturing factory were destroyed in bombardment of the military’s jet fighters.

The death toll of the militants in the  military offensive has reached to 205.

All hideouts of the militants in Mir Ali and Miranshah have been cordoned off by the military troops and fresh contingents have also reached in the area.

According to reports three militants were killed in Miranshah last night while trying to flee from the area. A soldier was injured in the incident.

The military operation has not been launched in urban settlements in the region so far, the spokesman clarified.

He said the civil population is being allowed passage to safe places after proper identification.
