5 Bollywood actresses launched by Salman Khan

Salman Khan is known as a ‘man with a golden heart’. The Bollywood actor has always helped out his fellow Bollywood artists and contributed to their success. Here are a couple of Bollywood actresses that Sallu mian helped launch (with many of them embarking on successful careers in the Indian film industry).

1. Katrina Kaif 

When we sit down to compile a list of actresses discovered by Salman, of course Kat comes to mind first and foremost! The fair-skinned beauty had made a forgettable debut in Boom and failed to impress the audience. However, Salman came to her rescue when he roped her in for his brother Sohail Khan’s production ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya?’ The film did commercially well and helped Katrina obtain lead roles in numerous films after that. Salman and Katrina began an off-screen relationship that lasted for quite a few years before Katrina left Salman for Ranbir Kapoor. The two remain friends to this day, though.

2. Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha was one of those few celebrities who achieved overnight stardom and fame with a monster debut hit. Starring opposite Salman Khan in the 2010 mega hit Dabangg. Her father being a legend in his own right, it was Salman though who helped propel Sinha to super stardom in the blink of an eye. Ever since then, she has starred in several hit films with other stars and emerged as one of the most versatile actresses of all time. She has delivered hits such as Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Son of Sardaar and Lootera. 

3. Zarine Khan 

She was also one of those actresses who was spotted by Salman and became lucky enough to be cast in a movie alongside him. After starring in Veer, Zarine attracted much attention due to the hit song Character Dheela Hai but wasn’t able to make a name for herself beyond that in Bollywood. She also starred in the commercially successful flick Houseful 2. 

4. Isabel Kaif

After welcoming Katrina Kaif into the world of showbiz and helping her achieve international stardom, Salman Khan also attempted to launch Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabel Kaif. Though Salman did not star in a movie with Isabel, he did produce one which featured her alongside international comedian and actor Kunal Nayyar from The Big Bang Theory.

5. Daisy Shah

Daisy had worked as assistant choreographer for 3 years with Ganesh Acharya when she was finally noticed by Salman Khan and due to his generosity, played the lead role in Jai Ho. The film disappointed on the box office and did not make a resounding impact.
