ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Farooq Haider has urged the United Nations to take notice of illegal detention of Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Yasin Malik by the Indian authorities.
In a letter to the United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon, Haider said that Indian authorities have been committing deliberate negligence towards the treatment of Yasin Malik despite his deteriorating health.
The senior leader of JKLF has been behind the bars in Srinagar since July 8 after the killing of Burhan Wani, a popular separatist leader who was gunned down by Indian troops in the held valley.
Visiting areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Bhimber District of AJK, Mr Haider said that Kashmiris would be united until its freedom from the Indian rule.
The AJK premier said India was at a loss after its Uri attack drama flopped badly in front of the entire world.

He said if India tried to escalate tensions along the LoC, the entire nation would back the Pakistan Army.
Raja Farooq Haider also announced that Kashmiris would observe October 27 as a ‘Condemnation Day’ against the Indian atrocities in the held valley.
Kashmir has been divided between Pakistan and India since the end of British rule in 1947. Both claim the territory in full.
Anti-India sentiment runs deep in Kashmir, where separatist groups and freedom fighters have fought Indian troops since 1989 for either independence or a merger with Pakistan.
Tension between the nuclear-armed neighbours has soared after a militant attack last month on an Indian army base killed 19 soldiers, with the two armies exchanging heavy fire and mortars across their de facto border in Kashmir almost every day.
