It is being speculated that the meeting is an effort to fortify alliance of the ruling party, so that the issue of Panama Papers leaks could be solved in PM’s favor.

Nawaz Sharif during his address to the nation on Friday said he would accept recommendations of the judicial commission to be formed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Zaheer Anwar Jamali, who has left for Turkey today on an official week-long overseas tour.

On the other hands, opposition has rejected terms of reference sent to Supreme Court in the letter to form a judicial commission.

The letter had called for the CJP to head a judicial commission on priority basis which would probe the Panama leaks controversy.

The terms of reference of the letter stated that the commission will investigate former and current holders of public office.

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had tweeted yesterday demanding Nawaz Sharif to step down.

The prime minister had regretted in his address that his political opponents were pressurizing the judges not to be a part of the inquiry commission.

He had said the current crisis, made up by his opponents, was nothing but an eyewash aimed at getting power, by creating instability in the country.

Earlier, on Friday during the day Nawaz also held a meeting with President Mamnoon Hussain to discuss ‘overall political situation of the country’.
