Adnan Siddiqui denies heading to India for movie shooting

KARACHI: Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has denied media reports that he is leaving for India to complete the production of his upcoming movie “Mom”.

Speaking exclusively with ARY News on Tuesday, Siddiqui said that Indian media spread the news that he has been granted visa.

He said, “There is no truth in these reports, I have not been granted visa”.

It is pertinent to mention that Siddiqui will star along side Bollywood actress Sridevi in Mom. He will portray the role of the actress’ spouse whereas Sajjal Ali will play the role of his daughter.

The actor, commenting on the ban on Pakistani stars in India, said that it is necessary to understand that who has enforced that restriction. “It is not the governments but its Indian Film Producers Association who has placed the ban,” Siddiqui said.

He added that the situation is part of politics. He added that such decisions are made when bilateral ties between two countries are not well.

The Pakistani actor, answering a question on whether he was offered roles in Bollywood, replied positively but stated that he did not take them as “his heart was not willing to”.

Speaking on Mom, Siddiqui said that he agreed to work in the film because of its script, seasoned co-stars, new style of direction and A.R. Rehman’s music score.

He added that he will also start shooting for his drama which will depict events in 1948.

It should be noted that Siddiqui had played a character in Angelina Jolie starrer titled “A Mighty Heart in 2007”.
