Afghan intelligence officer arrested near Chaman border

The Ministry of Interior has confirmed the arrest.

The Afghan officer was identified as Rozi Khan — reportedly a second lieutenant in the intelligence unit of the Afghan army. He was arrested for crossing into Pakistan without possessing any documents to enter Pakistan.

He was later handed over to intelligence agencies who moved him to undisclosed location for interrogation.

On April 6, the FC had arrested Afghan intelligence officer, also near Chaman during a raid. The raiding team had also recovered weapons including four SMGs, one sniper rifle, three mobile phone sets, eleven antennas, twenty-five small and ten large ball bearings, seventy-five detonator fuses and other items as well.

Based on the disclosures made by the suspect, another compound was raided by FC from where ten kilograms ready explosives, twelve kilograms of raw explosives and other items needed to make a bomb, were confiscated. According to FC authorities, the confiscated weapons and explosives were to be used in terrorism-related activities in Balochistan.
