Transgender Alisha was allegedly killed by her partner Fazal Gujjar in an attack on May 22. Alisha, who breathed her last in the hospital after two days, informed the police in her dying statement blamed her partner as her killer.
Local police produced the alleged murderer of Alisha, before the media on Sunday. Police believes the dying declaration of Alisha makes a strong case against the suspect.
Fazal Gujjar, a man in his 20s was arrested by police on May 28.
Peshawar’s Trans-gender Alliance, a forum of civil society and transgender for creating awareness about the rights of transgender, raised its voice against the incident. After death of Alisha, her transgender family protested and forced the police to take serious efforts for arrest of the killer.
