Another stray bullet incident leaves minor injured in Karachi

KARACHI: In third similar incident since the month of August, another child was hit by a stray bullet in the metropolis on Monday night.

Ten-year-old, Arman, was injured after a stray bullet hit his left leg in Karachi’s Orangi Town, according to police officials.

The minor was taken to Civil Hospital of the city for treatment and is said to be in stable condition, the police told.

Speaking to the media, Arman’s family said that the bullet came from nowhere and pierced in a leg of the kid.

Last week, seven-year-old Aqsa, who was hit by a stray bullet at Karachi’s Saeedabad area, died on Sunday morning.

The girl was hit by a bullet during the assembly session at her school. After being treated for 48 hours in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, she lost her life.

In August, another tragic incident by a stray bullet took life of a 10-year-old Amal Umer. The girl was hit by a stray bullet during a police encounter at Karachi’s Akhtar Colony on the eve of the Independence Day.

The case of minor’s death has been transferred to an anti-terrorism court.

Last month, during an assembly session, declaring to start a war against the street crimes in Karachi, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah admitted that the menace has worsen lately but it will be curbed soon. He further announced to bring reforms into the police department and termed it ‘Amal Reforms’ in the memory of the victim of the stray bullet fired by a policeman.
