ARY Film Awards 2014: Waar, MHSA steal the show

KARACHI: Waar and Main Hoon Shahid Afridi (MHSA) stole the show at ARY Film Awards as the two films won most of the awards in the event, ARY News reports.

Actor Shaan hosted the ARY Film Awards last night.

Viewer's Choice:

Shaan won the award for Best Actor (Male) for his mesmerising perfomance in Waar. 

The award for Best Film category went to Waar . 

Actress Aisha Khan won the award for "Best Actor (Female)" and Best Star Debut (Female)" categories for Waar.

Hamzah Ali Abbasi bagged the awards for "Best Star Debut (Male)" for Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and "Best Actor in a Supporting Role" for Waar.

Meesha Shafi won the award for Best Supporting Actor (Female) for Waar.

The award for "Best Director" went to Bilal Lashari for the film Waar. 

Film Josh won the award  for "Best Independent Film".

Duo Shani and Kami won the award for Best Music for the film Main Hoon Shahid Afridi. 

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan bagged the "Best Singer (Male)" award for Zinda Bhaag whereas Abida Parveen won the award for "Best Singer (Female)" for Ishq Khuda.

Technical Awards: 

Film Waar won the awards for "Best Cinematography", "Best Special Effect" and "Best Action".

The award for "Best Background Score" and "Best Story" went to Zinda Bhaag. 

Main Hoon Shahid Afridi won the award for "Best Choreography". MHSA also bagged the award for "Best Dialogue" and "Best Makeup".

"Best Screenplay" award went to film Siyaah whereas Chambaili won the award for "Best Costume Design".

Jury's Choice: 

The Jury's Choice award for "Best Actor (Male)" went to Humayun Saeed for Main Hoon Shahid Afridi. Amina Ilyas won the award for "Best Actor (Female)" for Zinda Bhaag. 

The award for "Best Film" in jury's choice was won by Zinda Bhaag

Bilal Lashari won the award for "Best Director" for Waar.

Veteran actor Nadeem Baig was honored with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" whereas singer Ali Zafar was given "The Special Award for Contribution in Pakistani Cinema".
