KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday directed the investigation officer in a case pertaining to an attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Ramzan Ghanchi to submit a final challan, ARY News reported.
The court directed the investigation officer to submit the charge-sheet on the next hearing on March 12.
As the hearing began, the PTI MPA along with suspects – Suleman Soomro and his sons Shah Nawaz and Ali Nawaz – appeared in the court. PTI lawmaker Khurram Sher Zaman was also in attendance during the hearing.
The three accused are out on bail.
The judge directed the defence and prosecution counsels to forward their arguments on the suspects’ plea seeking confirmation of their interim bail on the next hearing.
On Jan 25, PTI MPA Ramzan Ghanchi was shot and injured near Karachi’s Ghas Mandi.
According to police, armed men opened fire at the PTI lawmaker during a brawl over a pipeline near his office in Ghas Mandi. He received a bullet wound on his leg and was initially shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi from where he was later moved to a private hospital for treatment.
A case was registered at the Napier police station against Suleman Soomro, Shah Nawaz and Ali Nawaz.
