AVLC inspector terminated for snatching, blackmailing Karachi citizens

KARACHI: Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) Inspector Fida Leghari has been terminated by the higher authorities for abducting, snatching and blackmailing two Karachi citizens, ARY News reported on Monday.

AVLC Inspector Fida Leghari had allegedly abducted two citizens from outside the Malir court. Later, he illegally captivated the citizens and snatched Rs180,000 cash.

Moreover, Leghari also filmed an objectionable video of a citizen namely Aziz in his custody. The inspector faced a departmental inquiry in which he was found guilty of the crimes.

The Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi terminated the AVLC inspector from his job.

Earlier in the day, a Sindh police constable was found involved in a snatching incident in Karachi.

As per details, the airport police station police arrested two suspects in a raid. Three suspects snatched a bike in the jurisdiction of the airport police station on April 16.

The police recovered the bike and pistols from the two arrested suspects Abdullah and Zeeshan Shafiq.

The police officials said that Zeeshan Shafiq is a police constable and he is deployed in the SSP investigation east.
