Ayyan Ali's judicial remand extended till July 6

The supermodel was brought to the Customs court in an armoured car, for her hearing. In the next session, Ayyan Ali will be indicted. Ayyan’s lawyer requested the court to postpone the hearing for two weeks, which was rejected by Special Judge Custom Rana Aftab.

Ayyan’s lawyer was ordered to be present on the next hearing of the supermodel. Hearing for the currency smuggling case has been postponed by the Custom court in Rawalpindi till 6 July. The process for Ayyan Ali’s indictment will begin from the next hearing. Ayyan was escorted from Adiala Jail to the Customs court by a special police squad, in an armoured vehicle.

Ayyan’s team of senior lawyers could not be present at the Rawalpindi court as they had to attend proceedings at Lahore High Court for the supermodel’s bail plea request. During the proceedings, the court remarked that Ayyan Ali’s case was of importance hence an extension of fourteen days could not be granted. A large number of citizens had gathered outside the court’s premises to catch a glimpse of the supermodel as she made her way to the court.
