Ayyan's judicial remand extended

Due to the transfer of Customs Court Judge Chaudhry Mumtaz, Ayyan was brought in the presence of Justice Bahadur Ali. The model was earlier placed before the Custom Court but as no judge was present to hear the case, she was taken to the District and Sessions Court.

Upon inquiry from Justice Bahadur Ali, Ayyan complained on account of the lack of hygiene of her prison place. The model cum actress also revealed that she wasn’t being provided with medicine, which she needed as she was sick. After hearing Ayyan’s woes, Justice Bahadur Ali ordered the jail staff to provide Ayyan with medicine and ensure proper hygiene of her jail cell.

Ayyan’s defense counsel, Sardar Ishaq filed a plea that Custom authorities were supposed to file a challan regarding the matter within four days. which they had been unable to do so. He stated that twenty-eight days had passed yet the challan had not been field.

Before adjourning the session for April 27, the judge directed the investigation team to inform the court as to when the challan would be filed.

Ayyan Ali had been arrested at the Benazir International Airport on March 14 after more than $500,000 were recovered from the supermodel’s luggage. She was sent to Adiala Jail after it was alleged that the model was involved in laundering money.
