Rulers of Balochistan responsible for its downtroddenness, poverty: Jam Kamal

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal on Saturday said the rulers of Balochistan were responsible for its downtroddenness and poverty, ARY News reported.

“Never ever anybody came from Sindh, Punjab or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here to become a chief minister,” Jam Kamal said in a statement.

He said only two persons were crying foul over the Public Sector Development Programme. Common citizen did not know what trick had been played in the name of the PSDP, he added.

The chief minister said the incumbent provincial government transferred fruits of development to areas through better use of resources. “If resources are misused, it will increase poverty and backwardness.”

He said prosperity would come, if 2.5 billion rupees were spent on development of Balochistan.

He said he had devolved powers to lower level by dissolving centralisation.

Jam Kamal said a few people used to take decisions about fate of the province through miscalculation.

On March 25, Jam Kamal had said the government was endeavouring to resolve issues of all areas without any inequity.

Speaking to media here, Kamal had said “We believe equal development of all provincial areas.”

He had stated that federal and provincial governments’ projects were underway in the province. He was of the view that projects under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) would benefit the most number of people.
