Bandit killed in police encounter in Rahim Yar Khan

RAHIM YAR KHAN: A notorious bandit, carrying Rs five million bounty on his head, was killed in a police encounter in Rahim Yar Khan district.

Police on a secret report about presence of outlaws in Iqbal Abad police station jurisdiction, deployed force at Murtaza Abad road and stopped a suspected motorbike rider.

Armed bandits opened fire at police party, in an exchange of fire, a bandit namely Rizwan alias Irfan Shar was killed in the shootout, a police spokesman said.

Deceased bandit was carrying Rs five million bounty on his head, announced by the Sindh government, spokesman said.

Illegal arms also recovered from his possession police spokesman further said.

The slain outlaw was wanted to police in kidnapping for ransom, encounters with police, robbery and murder crimes, officials said.

Police officials have launched a search operation in the area for arrest of other bandits.
