BANNU: Bannu police on Monday foiled a bomb blast by recovering explosive material from the Mandan Gate area, ARY News reported.
According to police, terrorists had parked a motorcycle rigged with explosives near a parked police mobile.
A minor blast occurred within the explosive device attached to the motorcycle.
Additionally, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) recovered more explosives fixed to the motorcycle, bringing the total weight of the installed material to between 3 kg and 5 kg.
Police noted that the roundabout is a busy area where police and traffic personnel are constantly deployed.
Authorities stated that had the entire explosive material detonated, it could have caused large-scale destruction and heavy casualties.
