Beloved sitcom ‘The Inbetweeners’ might make a comeback after 10 years

The beloved coming-of-age sitcom “The Inbetweeners” may be returning to screens after over 10years, thanks to a new deal that has unlocked the title rights.
Originally aired on E4 from 2008 to 2010, the show follows the misadventures of teenager Will MacKenzie and his friends Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright.
On Monday, it was announced that a partnership between Banijay UK and Fudge Park Productions, founded by series writers and creators Lain Morris and Damon Beesley, has secured the rights to the comedy, paving the way for potential projects across film, television and stage.
Beesley and Morris expressed their excitement, stating, “It’s incredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends”. The award-winning series, which humorously navigates themes of school, friendship, lad culture and awkward sexual encounters, starred Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison.
Following the show’s success, the cast reprised their roles in two films released in 2011 and 2014.
Managing director of Fudge Park, Jonathan Blyth, commented, “We are thrilled to announce this exciting partnership with Banijay, who shares our vision and ambition for one of the most iconic comedies in British history. This is a wonderful moment for fans, and there are exciting conversations underway with more news to follow”.

Banijay Rights serves as the distributor for “The Inbetweeners”.
