Bilawal congratulates nation on Asad Umar’s resignation as finance minister

KARACHI: Reacting on the development of stepping down by Asad Umar as finance minister, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Thursday congratulated the nation and hoped that this will bring positive change in economy.

Talking to the newsmen, the PPP leader said, since this government has come into the power, the people of Pakistan have drowned in a tsunami of inflation.”

Bilawal claimed that the government had accepted that its economic policies failed badly and they could not provide any relief to the people of Pakistan.

He further added that other ministers who have links with banned organizations will also be dismissed soon.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Asad Umar had announced  to step down from his post as finance minister.

Taking on Twitter, Asad Umar broke the news by saying, “As part of a cabinet reshuffle PM desired that I take the energy minister portfolio instead of finance.”

It may be noted that ARY News had already reported on Monday that Prime Minister Imran Khan was mulling over reshuffling his cabinet in light of the performance of federal ministers, including Finance Minister Asad Umar.
