SHUJABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday spoke to people of Shujabad city of Multan district and promised employment, women empowerment and elimination of hunger if people vote for his party, ARY News reported.

Flanked by former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani, Bilawal said that he is the only party leader who is not running his election campaign by abusing his political opponents but has come with a proper manifesto for public good.

“We will bring food cards and will open subsidized food stores at Union Council level run by women, this will not only eliminate hunger but will empower our women,” said Bilawal while detailing his plan.

He also promised proper housing facilities, employment and a pro-farmer policy if people elect his party to power.

“Providing employment is a benchmark of PPP’s politics, in the past, people used to say Benazir aai gee, Rozgar lai gee (Benazir’s rise to power will mean employment),” said the PPP chief.

Bilawal, who is visiting different cities and towns of the country as a part of his election campaign, also spoke people at Bahawalpur bypass as his caravan moved ahead.

It is pertinent to note here that Bilawal had started his election campaign by announcing his party’s manifesto for the 2018 general elections on June 29.

Addressing media in Islamabad, the PPP chief had lamented the absence of an effective and proactive foreign policy, lack of education and health facilities for common people of the country and an ‘unstable’ economic situation.

He pledged to free all Pakistanis from the fear of hunger, thirst and helplessness and to open opportunities for youth so that “they may excel, become active citizens of Pakistan and confident members of the global community”.
