Bill introduced in NA to extend SC, IHC jurisdiction to Fata

ISLAMABAD: A bill has been introduced in the National Assembly to extend the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court to tribal areas of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

The bill was moved in the House today by Law Minister Zahid Hamid on Friday.

The Federal Cabinet had cleared the bill for introduction in the Parliament during its meeting on Tuesday.

The National Assembly was informed that the government has taken a number of steps to achieve the objectives for climate change during the last five years.

To a query during the question hour, Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Secretariat Raja Muhammad Javed Ikhlas informed the House that the government had ratified the Paris Agreement on Climate Change in November last year.

He said under the Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Programme Rs3.65 billion have been allocated for revival of forestry resources and conservation of biodiversity.

The parliamentary secretary said more than one billion rupees have also been allocated for wildlife conservations.

He said the National Forest Policy has also been approved by the Council of Common Interests.
