BNP leader shot dead in Quetta

QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) leader Malik Naveed Dehwar was shot on Thursday afternoon along with his driver in Quetta, ARY News reported.

Police said unidentified gunmen opened fire at Dehwar’s vehicle at Arbab Karam Khan Road. Another man identified as Haji Essa was also injured in the attack.

The injured and bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital while further investigation is underway. The assailants escaped after firing at Dehwar’s car killing him on the spot. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The balochistan National Party strongly condemned the killing and urged the government to arrest the killers. BNP Secretary General Agha Hassan also criticised the government over the incident.

Malik Naveed Dehwar was a local leader of BNP led by Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
