He realised he wouldn’t be able to drive too long and used his presence of mind to save the passengers by crashing the vehicle into a wall, bringing it to a halt before breathing his last, police said on Saturday.
Following the crash, Sana Pradhan was rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors there declared him dead due to cardiac arrest, police said.
The vehicle left with the passengers for its destination a while later with another driver at the wheel, they said. The body of the bus driver was handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination, they added.
