First lady Bushra Imran topped the list of most sought after people in Pakistan in the year 2018, Google trends show.

As the world’s top search engine released the search trends at the end of year 2018, it emerged that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Manika tops the chart of most searched people in Pakistan.

Among the top five most searched people, Meghan Markle, the American actress who became a member of the British royal family upon her marriage to Prince Harry, stood second.

Former US actress Meghan, 37, now the Duchess of Sussex, married Harry, Queen Elizabeth’s grandson and sixth-in-line to the throne, in a glittering ceremony at Windsor Castle in May.

The third in line is Meesha Shafi, the singer-cum-actress, known for her rendition of Jugni alongside Arif Lohar.

Meesha Shafi is the daughter of veteran actress Saba Pervaiz. Her brother Faris Shafi too has appeared in a number of TV plays.

The fourth on the list is Imran Khan’s ex-wife and journalist Reham Khan.

Reham’s name of the list is perhaps due to the release of her controversial book.

The timing of the release months before the general elections raised questions which were further multiplied by Hamza Ali Abbasi’s claims.

She was also served several defamation notices over the book’s content including ones by cricketer Wasim Akram, PTI leader Anila Khawaja, London-based businessman Zulfiqar Bukhari, and even her first husband Ijaz Rehman.

Reham too sued Hamza Ali Abbasi for accusing her of allegedly receiving money from the PML-N.

The book was finally released in July.

The only man in the top five was Sylvester Stallone.

The Academy Award winning actor has a huge fan base in Pakistan but this year, he was perhaps Googled for “not recognising Salman Khan”.

Back in March, Stallone had shared a poster from then Salman Khan’s upcoming flick ‘Race 3’ to wish Salman Khan the best but the poster he shared featured Bobby Deol.

Stallone wrote, “The very best wishes to very talented film hero SALMAN KHAN For his next film RACE 3 !@beingsalmankhan.” over Bobby Deol’s poster.

Replying to Stallone’s post of Bobby Deol’s Race 3 poster, a user commented, “That’s a very good but He’s not a Salman Khan.” Stallone then deleted his Instagram post.

The movie too was a disappointment but interestingly it became the most googled movie in Pakistan in the year followed by Sanjay Dutt biopic “Sanju”

Cricket fans too made ‘Pakistan vs New Zealand’ the most searched keywords on the search engine.
