US CENTCOM chief, COAS Bajwa discuss Pakistan-India tension

RAWALPINDI: A delegation from the United States (US), headed by Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Kenneth McKenzie called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters on Sunday, said Inter-Services Public Relations(ISPR).

According to the military’s media wing, Pakistan-India tension and Afghan peace process were discussed in the meeting.

Matters of mutual interests, regional security and geostrategic situation were also came under discussion during the meeting, said ISPR.

Earlier in the day, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had disclosed  that India was once again planning military action against Pakistan.

“An incident similar to Pulwama could recur in the occupied Kashmir valley,” he had said, adding the purpose of this sinister plan was to build diplomatic pressure on Pakistan and justify Indian military action.

Qureshi had said keeping in view these facts, the Foreign Office had decided right away to hold a meeting of the ambassadors of the P-5 counties (UN Security Council’s five permanent members) and briefed them on Pakistan’s concerns about the possible Indian aggression.
