Lahore doctors successfully stitch hole in child’s heart without surgery


LAHORE: A hybrid angiography of a minor girl was successfully conducted in Children Hospital Lahore on Friday, ARY News reported.

The doctors stitched hole in heart of the five-year-old girl without performing surgery on it, through hybrid angiography.

Previously, a bypass operation of children was carried out to stitch their hearts, however, Dr Masood Sadiq and his team had completed the operation without performing surgery.

A hybrid lab has been established at the Children Hospital Lahore for Rs100 million.

The operation was carried out during a two-day workshop at the hospital. 18 more such cases will be treated during the workshop.

On March 23, Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid had announced the third liver transplant at Lahore’s Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) remained successful.

In a statement, the minister had said both donor and patient were in good health. She lauded the hospital’s administration and Dr Faisal Dar, who conducted the liver transplant surgery.

She had said the donors of the previous two liver transplants had been discharged from the hospital after recovery.

The minister had said patients desiring to undergo the procedure won’t have to spend millions of rupees to go abroad for the purpose.
