LAHORE: Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Wednesday met Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and discussed matters of mutual interest including adoption of steps for the promotion of good governance, ARY News reported.

According to details, the chief minister said that basic facilities are being enhanced to provide necessary relief to the people.

“The people have already rejected the elements engaged in negative politics through the power of their votes in the general elections. Wrong priorities of the past governments badly affected the people and they were put in troubles instead of providing them any relief,” the CM said.

Ch. Pervaiz Elahi said the province of Punjab was vandalized in the previous tenure and the ‘credit’ of bankrupting the province goes to the former government.

He regretted that welfare projects of his tenure as CM were ignored or stopped which added to the woes of people of Punjab.

“The people have taken their revenge from the past rulers through the power of their vote. The present democratic era is a period of the people and merit and good governance will reign supreme instead of personal likes or dislikes,” said the speaker.

PTI assembly members also held meetings with the chief minister in his assembly chamber.

Speaking to party lawmakers, Usman Buzdar said that Pakistan is being transformed in a positive manner under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Usman Buzdar said that Pakistan has started moving on the journey of change and the journey will ultimately turn Pakistan into a new Pakistan, the country PM Imran Khan promised.

He said that a new local bodies system is being introduced which will give new dimensions to the concept of public service.

“PTI government is going to introduce such a local bodies system which will provide relief to the common man,” concluded the CM.
