COAS Bajwa meets Saudi ambassador, discusses bilateral issues

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani on Friday.

According to an official statement released by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting between the two officials took place at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in the garrison city.

Issues of bilateral relations including defence and training cooperation remain focus of the discussion, said the ISPR press release.

COAS Bajwa reassured the ambassador that Pakistan Army holds the defence of Saudi Arabia at par with its own.

The army chief took Pakistan army’s baton of command from General (retired) Raheel Sharif during a colourful ceremony on November 29 last year.

Bajwa is the 16th army chief of the world’s sixth-largest army by troop numbers.
