RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday visited the restive Line of Control (LoC).

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) gave the army chief a briefing on the situation along the LOC, Indian ceasefire violations (CFVs) and response by the Pakistan Army, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Later, Gen Bajwa interacted with the troops.

He appreciated their state of readiness and morale and the resilience of civilian Kashmiri population who are being deliberately targeted by Indian army on both sides of the LOC.

He said that lately there has been an increase in Indian CFVs and rhetoric of provocative statements by their military leadership.

“We are a professional and combat hardened Army ready to defend our motherland. It would be better if they realise this and place their stock in peace & progress through dialogue,” the ISPR quoted the army chief as saying.
