Corruption has undermined Pakistan, says Imran

“The rulers have pledged the people of the country to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in return of heavy debts,” he said while addressing a rally in Bhimber, Azad Kashmir, as a part of election campaign.

He said that every single Pakistani owes Rs 1,20,000, which has led to hike in power and gas tariffs on the orders of IMF.

The PTI chairman said corruption was decaying the country, adding, “Unless the menace of corruption is not eradicated, the country cannot make progress and for that stern accountability of those at the helm of affairs is required”.

While rebuking Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman for allying with the ruling party, Khan said Fazl was dishonoring Islam by doing politics in the name of religion. “People know his character, how he sold his soul for diesel.”

He said Maulana Fazlur Rahman was trying to save the people involved in corruption and advised him to change religious name of his party for he was disgracing Islam.

Commenting on Panamagate, Imran Khan said daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Safdar, had said she had no offshore companies or assets, however Almighty Allah revealed truth about her offshore holdings before the nation.

“The prime minister narrated his past story rather than answering the allegations leveled against him in Panama Papers leaks,” he said adding that a London court had given decision against Mian Sahib.

The PTI chief went on to reveal that $2 billion of public money were deposited in the Swiss bank account of a federal minister.

He slammed the government for failing to fulfill a single promise in three years, adding, “Neither the government constructed hospitals nor universities for public”.
