Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for Mir Shakeel, Mir Ibrahim

LAHORE: A local court in Lahore on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Geo/Jang group owner Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and Mir Ibrahim, ARY News reported.

Additional district and sessions judge Nadeem Ansari was hearing a petition filed senior anchorperson of ARY News Mubasher Lucman. It was contended in a petition that Geo and Jang group had been resorting to character assassination of Mr. Lucman on behest of Mir Shakeel and Mir Ibrahim.

Lucman, in his petition, said his integrity was hurt with the baseless allegations by Jang/Geo group, while his family was also undergoing agony.

Therefore, he requested the court to take action against Mir Shakeel and Mir Ibrahim as per law. The court subsequently issued non-bailable warrants for both the nominated accused as they did not turn up despite several summons of the court.

The sessions court ordered the police to arrest and produce Mir Shakeel and Mir Ibrahim on July 26 before the court.
