Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants of Mir Shakil, Mir Ibrahim

LAHORE: The Session Court Lahore has issued non-bailable arrest warrants of Mir Shakil ur Rahman and Mir Ibrahim, and ordered the police to arrest and present them before the court – ARY News reports.

According to details, The Session Court Lahore heard a petition filed against the owner of Geo/Jang Group, Mir Shakil ur Rahman and Mir Ibrahim, the petition was filed by ARY News anchorperson, Mubashir Lucman.

The court due to the absence of Mir Shakil and Mir Ibrahim issued non-bailable arrest warrants of both the accused and ordered the police to arrest them and present before the court on July 27.

Mubashir Lucman in his petition took the stance that the Geo/Jang Group is leading a defamation campaign against him, upon the consent of Mir Shakil and Mir Ibrahim.

His counsel, Amir Saeed said that the court was requested to take a strict action against the accused for defaming a dignified citizen of the country.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till July 27.

Meanwhile, a local court in DG Khan also ordered the registration of a case against Geo TV management, Mir Shakil ur Rahman, Shaista Wahidi, Veena Malik, due to the blasphemy of Ahl-e-Bait (RA).

Tahir Ayub Advocate had filed the petition for the registration of a case against Geo TV.
