With Pakistan and India are set to lock horns in the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Sunday, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has once again opposed playing cricket against the Men in Green at any level.
The spinner made these remarks during a Society magazine event ahead of the Asia Cup clash.
“India-Pakistan matches always come into the limelight, but after Operation Sindoor, everyone said there should be no cricket and no business,” Harbhajan said.
He shared that their side boycotted the World Championship of Legends games due to the same reason.
Following the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government adopted a policy to suspend bilateral sporting ties with Pakistan apart from facing the arch-rivals in multilateral events.

Harbhajan, 45, said that he personally doesn’t support cricket and trade ties with Pakistan.
“Everyone has their own way of thinking and understanding, but I feel that until relations between the two countries improve, cricket and business should not take place either,” he said.
However, he said that he respects the government’s decision to play against Pakistan in the mega event.
“But that is my thought. If the government says the match can happen, it should happen, but the relations between the two countries should be better.”
