KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday claimed to have arrested at least four target killers from different areas in Karachi, ARY News reported.
CTD official said that the suspects, during the initial investigations, confessed killing of above 13 people on the directions of their party. The suspects were identified as Muhammad Irfan, Naimat Ali, Salman Hashmi, and Nasir.
The official said that Muhammad Irfan was associated with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and the rest of three were affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London.
He said that the MQM-London target killers had killed a JI activist, Muhammad Azhar in 2010. The official said the suspects were involved in target killing, extortion and other heinous crimes and added that many cases were registered against the suspects in different police stations.

Earlier, a suspected target killer affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)-London had been arrested in the city by law enforcement agencies on March 7.
A joint operation was conducted by Rangers and police in Karachi on intelligence report and arrested Ghufran Ahmed who was the member of MQM-London’s Saleem Belgium’s target killing team.
