FOLSOM, Calif: A restaurant in California, Fat’s Asia Bistro & Dim Sum Bar, offered a customer a discount on her bill after she saw a rat while dining, according to a Facebook post.
Kevin Fat, chief operating officer of the Fat Family Restaurant Group, says he isn’t taking the matter lightly, despite the jokes going around Facebook.
“In our 14 years in Folsom, we have not experienced something like this before,” he told KTXL.
The original poster shared a picture of the receipt for a friend who isn’t on Facebook, writing that her friend was disturbed when a rat ran around her feet. The friend then notified a server, but a manager never came to her table.
Instead, the rat sighting was recorded on her bill.
Fat says he believes his staff acted appropriately. He also says pest control was contacted, and they didn’t find any signs of rats.
