ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar as Chairman Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has given anticipatory approval for immediate disbursement of one month’s salary to PSM employee.
The salary will be paid before advent of Ramadan, the minister directed. The decision he said has been taken on compassionate grounds and to facilitate the employees of PSM in the holy month of Ramadan.
The matter shall be put up at next meeting of ECC, seeking regularization of the approval.

The government disburses salaries to PSM employees every three months.
It is pertinent here to mention that two persons, including a PSM employee and another employee’s spouse, committed suicides in April the following year after the PSM did not release salaries to its employees for three months.
PSM has more than 9,000 employees and its Al Hadeed Welfare Trust has over 40 schools in the metropolis.
Since some years it has become order of the day that the employees get salaries after three to four months which create great disorder in their daily lives.
