Death toll of Quetta blast reaches four

QUETTA: The death toll from Friday’s blast, inside Rahmania Masjid of Quetta, reached four as one more injured person succumbed to his wounds on Saturday.

Initially, at least two persons lost their lives and 15 sustained severe wounds following a bomb explosion inside Rahmania mosque during Friday prayers.

The explosion occurred at the densely populated Pashtun Abad area of the provincial capital of Balochistan.

Police officials said that the intensity of the blast can be evaluated from the shattering of window glasses of nearby buildings. The officials added that the explosion was carried out when people started gathering for the Friday sermon.

On April 12, at least 20 people were killed and several others got injured in a suicide blast at Quetta’s Hazarganji sabzi mandi; eight of the victims belonged to the Hazara community.
