Chinsese collect donations for consulate attack martyrs

BEIJING: Citizens of China are collecting donations to raise funds to help the families of the two cops who sacrificed their lives while foiling the attack Friday over the Chinese consulate in Karachi. ARY News reported on Monday.

The relations between both the countries are not only between the governments level, but it is people to people friendship which has developed over the years and the recent response from people of China  on terrorist attack on Chinese consulate was some of the best  examples of  true friendship.

The two Sindh policemen on Friday (November 23)  namely, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ashraf Dawood, and Constable Amir Khan, had lost their lives in the attack when gunmen thrown grenades at them and opened indiscriminate fire.

The Deputy Chief of Mission of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, Lijian Zhao, in his statement on Twitter said, “[the] Chinese donations for Pakistan police have shown that China-Pakistan friendship is higher than mountains and deeper than the sea.”

“The friendship has never been empty talks, but deeply imprinted in hearts of Chinese and Pakistani people,” Zhao said.

The Chinese people have volunteered to make donations for families of the two Sindh policemen and the injured private security guard Mohammed Juman, who is currently under treatment at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi.

Couple of days ago, the Sindh government had announced Rs 12.5 million compensation money for the families of each assassinated police official, who embraced martyrdom while foiling terrorist attack on the consulate.

The condition of Juman is improving, “he is very stable now,” said Dr Seeme Jamali, adding that he might be discharged within the next one or two days.

Earlier on Saturday, Sindh IGP Dr Syed Kaleem Imam sent Rs0.5 million cash reward for the private guard, which were given to him in the presence of police.

Separately, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Federal Minister Ali Zaidi had announced Rs1 million and Rs0.3 million, respectively, as financial help for the injured guard.

At least three terrorists were killed as security forces and police foiled the terror attack targeting the Chinese Consulate in Karachi.

Two policemen embraced martyrdom in exchange of fire with the three terrorists armed with suicide jackets. Two civilians were also killed in the attack.
