Chandio said the interior minister had long been threatening to expose statements of arrested suspects and leaking of videos was a part of his plan, he said.

He said Dr. Asim was under detention of an institution that works under Chaudhary Nisar.

The CM’s adviser was of the view that PPP leader’s statements were being used for political gains. He called the leaking of Dr. Asim’s statement was a proof of Nisar’s “incompetence”.

In a video statement, Dr Asim had accused Owais Muzaffar aka Tappi of threatening him if he spoke against his corruption. Dr. Asim claimed he had asked Tappi to stop playing with human lives through funds embezzlement in medical and health sector.

Later, Dr. Asim’s counsel Anwer Mansoor Khan said the statements were taken by making his client intoxicated by feeding drugs.
