The process of election for 52 Senate seats begins today with the filing of the nomination papers that will be received till tomorrow (Friday), ECP sources said.
The Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on February 16 and 17.
The aspiring candidates could file appeals with the Secretary Election Commission against rejection of their nomination papers on February 20 and 21. The appeals will be disposed off on February 23 and 24.
The final list of candidates will be issued on February 25.
Polling for Senate elections in National and Provincial Assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will be held on March 5, the sources added.
