12 held in joint operation of Rangers and police in Karachi
KARACHI: As many as 12 suspects were held in a joint operation of the Sindh Rangers and the police in Bhangoria goth of Azizabad in Karachi on Tuesday (today).
According to details, around 104 houses were searched and 12 suspects were taken into custody during an operation in the area.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central Karachi while briefing the media said, three stolen motorcycles were confiscated from the nabbed suspects.
The two law enforcement agencies have been conducting raids in different parts of the metropolis in order to maintain peace and law and order in the city.
Yesterday, in a separate joint operation by Sindh Rangers and the police 11 suspects were rounded up n the wee hours of Monday in different areas of the city.
The raids were carried out in areas of Quaidabad and Shah Latif Town, in which 11 suspects were nabbed on the intelligence tip about presence of the outlaws in the area.
Earlier on November 14, Pakistan Rangers Sindh had arrested two accused involved in the murder of a policeman in an operation in Landhi’s Sherpao Colony.
According to a spokesperson of the paramilitary force, arrested accused namely, Yaseen and Imran had confessed murdering police constable, Mujahid upon resisting robbery in April this year.
Rangers and police had launched an operation in Karachi on September 5, 2013 following the directives of the then government in the wake of the rising incidents of terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, extortion and targeted killings.
