Six-year-old girl killed after sexual assault in Punjab’s Dunyapur
DUNYAPUR: A six-year-old girl was murdered after being subjected to sexual abuse in Dunyapur, ARY New reported on Saturday.
Police said little Asma, who went missing six day ago, was found dead in a pond in Dunyapur.
Subsequently, the minor was shifted to a medical facility, where her medical examination was carried out.
A police official said her postmortem report confirmed that she was subjected to sexual abuse before her captor(s) murdered and dumped her.
DNA samples collected from the crime scene were sent to a forensic laboratory for offender profiling.
The District Police Officer (DPO) Lodhran said police was making all-out efforts to find and arrest the culprit(s) behind this felony.
A large number of the cases of child sexual abuse have come to the fore after the rape and murder of Kasur’s Zainab.
On Feb 17 , an anti-terrorism court of Lahore awarded four death penalties to the prime suspect, Imran Ali, for raping and murdering the minor in Kasur.
He was also sentenced to life imprisonment and a separate 7-year jail term. The court also asked him to pay a collective fine of Rs 3.1 million.
The court conducted the swiftest trial in Pakistan’s judicial history at Kot Lakhpat Jail and concluded proceedings within four days.
