ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Aamer Mehmood Kiani on Saturday directed to launch anti-vector campaign in Islamabad, ARY News reported.
Aamer Mehmood Kiani directed this while presiding over a meeting regarding dengue situation in the federal capital.
“We are designing a strong strategy to eradicate dengue from the city,” he said.
He directed the concerned authorities to conduct a survey about dengue in Islamabad.
“We will make Islamabad a model city of health,” he said.
The meeting mulled over possible dens of growth of dengue and to eradicate them at the union councils level, said the spokesperson of health department.

Director General Health Dr Asad Hafeez and vector control specialists also participated in the meeting.
On March 31, at least 93 new cases of fatal dengue fever had been reported within a week in Kech district of Balochistan.
Dengue fever had hit 93 people during seven days, exceeding the previous figure to 243 in three weeks, District Health Officer (DHO) had confirmed ARY News.
According to district administration, 12 cases were being reported daily in Turbat while three deaths were confirmed.
The health officer had said that the administration was still awaiting special funds demanded by the provincial government to control further spread of the disease.
