Girl, boy’s dead bodies found in separate murder incidents after Kasur tragedy

BAHAWALPUR: Dead body of another young girl has been found in Bhalwal Tehsil of Bahawlpur on Thursday, hardly within two days of tragic murder of minor girl Zainab, while a boy was also found dead in Pattoki in a separate incident, ARY News reported.

The 16-year-old, Sajida Parveen, stepped out of her home in Tasawwurabad area of Bhalwal on Wednesday night for some work and did not return back since then. Relatives of the victim looked for the girl but to no avail.

The girl was strangulated to death and her body was found dumped in a field. The dead body also bears torture marks. It has been shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The girl is alleged to be murdered after being raped. However, the post-mortem report will further unveal true nature of the death. Police said investigation was underway in the incident.

In another such incident, 11-year-old, Ishraq, a resident of Pattoki, was abducted and raped before being murdered. His body was found dumped in a field after two days of his gone missing.

This was third murder of its own kind within a week in Punjab. Body of a minor girl, Zainab, was found dumped in a garbage heap near Kashmir Chowk in Kasur on Tuesday.

In the light of initial postmortem, police said the minor was sexually assaulted before her murder. The girl was strangled to death after being raped multiple times, police said.

The incident shook the whole country and made headlines around the world. The incident was widely condemned and calls for justice echoed on social media and other platforms.
