Anti-encroachment operation not aimed at depriving poor of their livelihood: Buzdar
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday took notice of reports regarding action against the poor segments of society during the anti-encroachment operation in the province, ARY News reported.
According to a statement released from his office, the CM Punjab issued directives to the concerned authorities that people belonging to poor segments of society like street vendors and laborers should not be touched during the campaign.
“This campaign is not aimed at depriving the poor and the laborers of their livelihood, rather it is meant for recovering precious state-owned land powerful land mafia. If any action is initiated against poor people then the concerned officers will be answerable,” said CM Punjab.
The chief minister said that action against gubernatorial and affluent segments should be continued with full vigor in this campaign.
Task-force to be formed for private hospitals, schools and colleges
Meanwhile, the chief minister has ordered to constitute a task-force to review matters pertaining to private hospitals and colleges. This task force will review different issues including fee structure of private hospitals, provision of healthcare facilities and procedure of recruitment of doctors.
The chief minister’s task-force will finalize its recommendations for the provision of better treatment facilities and relief to the people in private hospitals. The chief minister has also sought a detailed briefing about admissions, doctors’ recruitment and facilities in private medical colleges.
The task-force will present its proposals for improvement and submit a detailed report about the private medical colleges.
The chief minister has also directed to constitute a task-force about private schools. This task-force will review different issues including recruitment of teachers, staff, procedure of evaluating their competency and fee structure of private schools. The chief minister’s task-force will present proposals in the detailed report for improving the affairs pertaining to the private schools.
