High-level appointments, transfers in Army: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army has announced a number of high-level appointments and transfers in its ranks, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

According to the army’s media wing, Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has been appointed Adjutant General of Pakistan Army at the General Headquarters (GHQ).

Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas has been named Director General Joint Staff, while Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood has been appointed IG C&IT, said ISPR.

Lieutenant General Adnan has been given charge of Commander Bahawalpur Corps, while Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza will continue as Vice Chief of General Staff.

Earlier on April 12, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had announced the promotions of four major generals to lieutenant generals.

According to the military’s media wing, Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Major General Nauman Mahmood, Major General Azhar Abbas and Major General Faiz Hameed were promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.

Sahir Shamshad is working as Vice Chief of General Staff, while Azhar Abbas remained Commandant School of Infantry Quetta.

Moreover in the same year, the Pakistan Army had approved the promotion of 37 brigadiers, including nine from the Army Medical Corps to the rank of major general.
