Army chief along wife visits family of Shaheed police officer

ISLAMABAD: As a part of commemoration of Defence Day, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa along with his wife on Thursday visited family of Shaheed Police Sub Inspector Abbas at his home.

The army chief lauded their great sacrifice for the nation and that of all martyrs of Pakistan.

“There isn’t any other sacrifice greater than one’s life. Our lives are dedicated to Pakistan,” he said.

Son of the martyr SHO Imran expressed gratitude over the army chief’s visit and resolved to give any kind of sacrifice for the country.

On the 53rd anniversary of the 1965 war, the nation celebrated Defence and Martyrs Day Thursday to pay homage to the Shaheed and Ghazis who stood as solid wall to defend the motherland against the aggression of enemy.

Earlier, Director General Inter Service Public Relations, Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted in solidarity with the day.

He asked people to visit homes of the martyrs and salute them and their families.

The DG ISPR said great nations never forget their martyrs.
