Army will continue to support all state institutions for peace, stability: COAS

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has reiterated his resolve for continued support to all state institutions for peace, stability and progress of the homeland, in best interest of the people of Pakistan, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Chairing the 216th Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the COAS said army will continue its support to all state institution for peace and stability of the beloved homeland.

The Corps Commanders Conference reviewed geo-strategic environment with special focus on regional security and situation on eastern and western borders including Line of Control, said ISPR.

The top military brass had pledged to defend the country against all external threats while consolidating gains of counter-terrorism military operations, which have put security situation of the country on positive trajectory.

The forum highlighted importance of regional approach to eliminate roots of terrorism and attached hopes for success of ongoing Afghan reconciliation process while supporting all stakeholders to bring Afghan war to a peaceful logical conclusion.

Progress of ongoing stability operations for internal security was also discussed.
