NAWABSHAH: Former president Asif Ali Zardari has claimed no one gets to power corridors without a deal, adding that incumbent Prime Minister Imran Khan too came to power after striking a deal with the powers that be.

Addressing a gathering of party workers in a Nawabshah village, the PPP leader said efforts are underway to nab him, and added that his arrest would only increase his popularity.

He declared that he could not be intimidated by any case.

Mr Zardari said he had no tussle with the incumbent government. The PPP is a democratic party and served the people of the country, he added.

He claimed that no one gets to power corridors without a deal. Mr Khan and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif also came to power after striking similar deals, he claimed and added Mr Sharif knew the art of striking deals but lacked the skill to run the system.

Meanwhile, the PPP leader has decided to enhance contact with the people. Thus, he said, he will embark on a visit to different districts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Nawabshah division.

A day before, the former president had saidhe is observing that ‘some people’ are hatching a conspiracy against him. He said he would remain firm and face all the plots being designed against him.

He claimed that if disbursing jobs among the masses was his mistake, he would continue doing so.

The PPP leader was of the view that government officials and ministers were afraid of strict laws enacted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
