Australian high commissioner congratulates Pakistan on national day

ISLAMABAD: The Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Margaret Adamson has congratulated the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day, ARY News reported.

In her message, Adamson said Australia and Pakistan have much in common; adding Pakistanis living in Australia call the country as their home.

The ambassador said our commonwealth and cricketing heritage also hold an immense importance.

“Our cultural diversity, including over 60,000 Pakistani Australians who call Australia home, and our shared commitment to interfaith harmony deserves a mention”, she added.

The nation celebrates Pakistan Day on Saturday with a commitment to ensure progress, prosperity and a strong defense of the country.

The Day will dawn with thirty-one-gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one-gun salute in provincial and state capitals.

Special prayers will be offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country. National flag will be hoisted on major government buildings.
